PRESENT

An interactive sound installation based on the characteristic notification of the user’s virtual presence coming from Gadu-Gadu instant messenger. The artist installed a camera near the front door of the apartment, which detects movement inside it. Every time someone oversteps the threshold of the flat, he or she activates the specific sound, signalizing a physical, real presence in this space.

Paweł Marcinek (PL), born 1986 in Swidnik. Lives in Wroclaw. He specializes in painting, movie and art in private and public space. He is interested in the connection between nature and the living space of a human being, their relationship and boundaries.
