The video shows a group of roofers and two air conditioners at work. The processes running in the different picture planes are also brought in relation by the soundtrack which textually addresses the similarities of the two processes while seemingly originating from the air conditioning as from two speakers. Thus, the disparate places in the video image form a hybrid semantic space.
Stephan Groß (DE), born 1979, studied visual arts and mathematics at the university of Bremen with early computer artist Frieder Nake among others. His works deal with the artistic transformation of print media, visual poetry, video and installation. Groß had a fellowship of the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes and won the Löwenhof-Förderpreis, in 2006 and 2007. He regularly takes part in international festivals and exhibitions. Groß lives and works in Berlin.
