Art Mediators’ Comments: Shuai Cheng Pu, Counsciousness Spin Project
Two perpendicular screens with a video animation. Its dynamic and a bizarre ‘patchwork’ of soft frames make the viewer stop by for longer.
Art Mediators’ Comments: Jacob Tonski, Balance from Within
This work is undoubtedly amazing. Spectacular. Some may even say – beautiful. All this is the result of one thing – a surprise. What does the couch need balance for?

Art Mediators’ Comments: Marek Deka, Nothing More
Nothing more – that’s what the work is all about. It’s been perfectly planned and made. It looks exquisitely at the WRO Biennale exhibition in the University Library and has its peculiar, individual character. Functioning at times, it needs electricity to run. It is given expression through color, texture corrosion, or right proportion of the components.
Art Mediators’ Comments: Alessandro Fonte, Unisono
A refined video featuring a man playing monotonously the violin when turning with his back to the audience. One gets an impression he plays solo until the “unison” vacuum cleaners show up in sight as accompanying instruments.
Art Mediators’ Comments: Cécile Beau + Nicolas Montgermont, Radiography
A grand, high-speed aerial, which receives waves and signals coming from various sources in the closest surrounding. The installation translates the received signals to sound and visuals, making them become available to our senses.

Art Mediators’ Comments: Quayola, Captives
The series “Captives” refers to Michelangelo’s sculptures from the series “Prigioni”. In his work, Quayola focuses on exploring the possibilities of shaping body and form. His works – created in the Renaissance “nonfinite” technique – are an attempt to capture the moment of transformation of the incoherent solid material into the naturalistic sculpture.
Art Mediators’ Comments: Kay Walkowiak, Minimal Vandalism
Exquisite. The artistry in video editing, and the craftsmanship of the skateboarder. The raw interior of the Generali Foundation in Vienna becomes a setting for a perfect performer, who challenges the objects in doing extremely attractive tricks.

WRO and Musica Electronica Nova
This year, like in previous editions, WRO Biennale cooperates with the National Forum of Music within the festival Musica Electronica Nova in Wrocław. This time, they will organize two projects: an interactive spatial video installation From Inside by Thierry De Mey (BE), a special guest of the festival (opening at the Museums’ Night), and Brise-Glace, a reinterpretation of musical piece written in 1987 – and never performed – by the French composer, Luc Ferrari (1929-2005), prepared from the archival materials by WRO.
Test Exposure
The aim of the WRO 2015 Biennale is to give exposure to new media art experiments, individual explorations and approaches investigating the potential of art both to affect and to reflect emerging issues in culture. Read more →
